Please have your students wear their Spartan Band shirt to school that day! Open Mic Night We’re excited to welcome you to our first Open Mic Night on Monday, February 13th from 6-8pm! This concert will look different from many of the full group concerts that you may be accustomed to at Sunset. Small groups of performers will be featured in multiple different rooms throughout Sunset. The schedule can be viewed here. Students are expected to be present in their performance room for either the entire first half or the entire last half depending on when their performance is scheduled (each half should last about one hour). Students are encouraged, however, to stay the whole time to enjoy snacks from the concession stand and performances by their friends and peers. Families and guests are free to visit all the performance spaces and view the art show throughout the evening. We ask that you enter and exit rooms only during applause so as not to disrupt the performers. Colorado Symphony Field Trip Permission slips for our field trip to the Colorado Symphony on March 3rd were handed out this week! Please turn those in as soon as you are able - only the first 150 students from band, choir, and orchestra will be able to attend. Remember that your student must be in 7th or 8th grade and have an A or B average in band class for all three quarters to attend. Please reach out if there are issues with paying the fee - no student will be denied the opportunity to attend due to financial hardship. You may return the physical copy, or scan the QR code.
